__________
Words (grammar)
Australia's education system needs to go back a few steps, back to when kids were taught "the Three R's" (if you don't know them, they were "Reading, (w)Riting, and (a)Rithmetic") Skills and values you use in life, not all this other crap. Sure it is nice to learn another language, but it is not imperative to life!
Over use of the word "and" drives me up the wall.
eg. When going for holidays take the following sunscreen and hat and towel and bathers. Wouldn't the use of commas be better? ....take the following sunscreen, hat, towel and bathers. ????
Odd use of the words "done/did" and "them/those".
eg. I done the dishes. Shouldn't it be "I did the dishes" or "I've done the dishes" ????
Can't our education system get it right? They had it right when my mum went to school, what the heck changed?
__________
Australia's education system.
Kids aren't being taught good values anymore, there's no respect; either for themselves or others. They've no idea how to write a receipt when the cash register doesn't work when the power has gone off, they don't know how to count out change properly, they wouldn't know how to fix a simple thing around the house, or get a stain out of a shirt, tablecloth or the like.
Also where the heck did Australia's culture go? Yes we did have one, but it seems to have been thrown out in favour of "multiculturalism" .... *sigh* we had such a good culture.
But no body cares anymore.
What has happened to my country?
__________
Canst we not have a moments peace?
Why is it that when sitting in a relatively empty restaurant, someone (usually a group of ppl) has always got to come and sit at the table closest to you?! Especially when you've chosen an out of the way corner to have a quiet dinner together. I don't get it!
__________
... blind people.
Not blind as in can't see. No, I'm talking about the ones that can see quite well.
When waiting for someone outside a shop and you know there's a person is in a parked car behind you just staring at your back, I mean really boring into you with their eyes. Even though you're facing the shop window, you can see them staring at you, and also feel it.
Even when you turn around stare at them and slightly shake your head at them, they still continue to stare. When you repeat the silent "it's not polite to stare" head shake, they might lower their eyes and look around, but as soon as you turn back to the window, they're staring as hard as ever. This time when you turn to look at them, they jerk their head away a bit, but their eyes are still on you.
Why the heck do people do this? What is the facination? What's their problem?
*sheesh*
__________
Americanisation (again)
I'm sick of hearing the word ninedy or ninedies. Can't the americans get it right? The word has a "T" in it!
NINETY
*sigh*
__________
Pronunciation.
What is with the Americans and the word Herb?!?!?! Does it not have a "H" in front of it?
It's Herb people, not erb.
*sheesh*
__________
What makes the popular people of this world popular? And the rest of us have to scrounge for a bit of popularity?!
